The best money you'll spend on your swimmer isn't the new racing suit.

A suit lasts a season. What they learn in 10 days with us stays for life: early mornings, hard sets, and nerves they swim through anyway.

And every day at camp, a confidence session with the tools I got from Michael Phelps' sports psychologist.

The PB is what you'll see on the results sheet. The discipline, the focus, the friends .. that's what you'll see for the rest of their life.

Swim camps in Tenerife · the parent guide

Everything parents ask before they pick a camp.

Swimpros runs 10-day performance swim camps for competitive swimmers at Tenerife Top Training (T3) in the south of Tenerife, Spain. Elite camps are for ages 13 to 20, Junior camps for ages 8 to 12. Every camp on this page is in Tenerife: New Year's, Easter and the summer 2027 camps.

What's included

Coaching, kit, boat trip, the Game Plan. Residential adds room, meals, airport pickup.

Every swimmer

  • Two pool sessions a day, with a coach in the water every session
  • The daily confidence session with me
  • Recovery shakes, the dolphin boat trip, and the evening and social events
  • The camp kit
  • The race day at the end of camp, with timed races and results
  • The Game Plan: on the last day, everything the coaches logged becomes one document with your swimmer's name on it, for the next 90 days of training
  • A WhatsApp from me every evening, with a photo and a one-line update

Elite camps add

  • Filming in the flume channel and a 1:1 video analysis: every stroke fault shows up in slow motion

Residential (Elite) adds

  • A room in the T3 Residence, the athletes-only residence right next to the pool
  • All meals, athlete-grade food
  • Pickup from Tenerife South airport (TFS) and the transfer back
  • 24/7 supervision, with coaches living in the same residence

Not included

Flights, and travel, health and accident insurance. Insurance is mandatory and each family's own. Non-residential swimmers get the same coaching, kit, boat trip and evenings, and the family books its own stay and meals. Junior camps are non-residential. Each camp's page above shows the price for each option.

Who the camps are for

Competitive swimmers who train and race. Not learn-to-swim.

Elite camps, ages 13 to 20. Built for swimmers who train in a club and race, and who want to stop leaving time on the turns, the underwaters and the nerves. The sweet spot is a 100m freestyle around 1:10 or faster. If yours is close, send me their events and best times and I'll give you a straight answer.

Junior camps, ages 8 to 12. For club swimmers who basically live in the pool. There is no time standard. Two sessions a day, with groups matched by age and level.

Swimmers have come to our camps from 25+ countries, so your swimmer trains with fast kids from all over Europe and beyond.

A day at camp

Long course in the morning, the confidence session, short course in the afternoon.

Elite

  • 7:30Breakfast
  • 8:30Performance mobility
  • 9:00Long-course training, Olympians in the water
  • 11:30Lunch and rest
  • 14:45The confidence session
  • 15:30Underwater-kick mobility
  • 16:00Short-course training, race speed
  • 18:00Recovery and stretch
  • 19:00Dinner as a team

Junior

Two blocks a day: 08:45 to 11:00 (mobility, short-course training, the confidence session) and 15:45 to 18:00 (mobility, long-course training, recovery). In between and after, your swimmer is with you. Day one starts with orientation at 17:00 at the T3 reception. The last day ends at 11:00, so an afternoon flight home works.

Junior rest days keep the same rhythm, with beach afternoons.

The coaches

Olympians on deck, 1 coach for every 8 swimmers (juniors 1:6).

I'm David Karasek. I swam the 200m individual medley for Switzerland at the London 2012 Olympics and set the Swiss record there, 2:01.35. I spent a year at the University of Virginia working with Michael Phelps' sports psychologist, and I run the daily confidence session at every camp myself, with the tools I got from him. My specialty is the swimmer who is great in practice and freezes at meets.

My coaching team is in the water every session: one coach for every 8 swimmers at Elite camps, one for every 6 at Junior camps, with groups matched by age and level.

Every summer a legend joins us on deck. In 2026 that was world-record holders Peter Mankoč and Milorad Čavić. The summer 2027 guest is announced soon, and booked families hear first. Meet the coaches.

The venue: Tenerife Top Training (T3)

A 50m pool, the flume channel, athletes-only rooms next door.

Every Swimpros camp runs at Tenerife Top Training (T3) in the south of Tenerife, about 30 minutes from Tenerife South airport. Swimmers train long course (50m) and short course there every day.

Elite swimmers who stay with the team sleep in the T3 Residence: athletes only, air-conditioned rooms, athlete dining, two minutes from the blocks, with coaches living in-house. Elite camps also use the flume channel, where swimmers are filmed against a current and see exactly what is costing them tenths.

The PB Promise

Our guarantee, in one line.

A personal best at camp or within 90 days, or 6 months of coaching free.

At a recent camp, 28 of 35 swimmers swam a PB at camp, and the other 7 within 90 days. Nobody has claimed the promise in four years.

Safety and supervision

A coach with them all day, 24/7 for residential, a clinic 8 minutes away.

Residential Elite camps are supervised 24/7. A coach is in the water every session, staff are with the group at the pool and at meals, and the coaches live in the same athletes-only residence. Lights out is enforced.

Junior camps are non-residential. Your swimmer is with the coaches from drop-off to pick-up, and with you the rest of the day.

Every swimmer is paired by age before arrival, and the group meets on a Zoom call before camp, so there are familiar faces on day one. Phones come back every evening after dinner, and I send you a WhatsApp every evening with a photo and a one-line update.

There is a partner clinic 8 minutes from the venue, with English-speaking doctors. Travel insurance is mandatory. If something happens, we handle the logistics and you get the call.

Getting there

Fly into Tenerife South (TFS), about 30 minutes from the pool.

Book flights into Tenerife South airport (TFS), about 30 minutes from the pool. Residential swimmers are collected at arrivals: a coach is at the airport all arrival day, so aim to land between 09:00 and 19:00. Swimmers can fly alone with the airline's unaccompanied-minor service, with a parent, or with another camp family.

We don't collect from Tenerife North (TFN). It's over an hour further away, so steer clear of it when you book. Non-residential families arrange their own transfer and tell us their flight times so we can plan arrivals.

How booking works

Talk to me first, or hold a place now. Fully refundable for 7 days.

Most families have a 15-minute Swimmer Assessment call with me first: I tell you honestly which camp fits your swimmer, whether you book or not. Book the call.

Already sure? Tap your camp above. A deposit holds the place, and it's fully refundable for 7 days after you pay. The rest is due 3 months before camp. If plans change and you tell us 3 months or more before camp, the deposit moves to any other Swimpros camp.
