Tenerife Swim Camp: Dates, Coaches and What Your Swimmer Gets
Short answer: Swimpros runs 10-day performance swim camps in Tenerife, Canary Islands, year-round: October, New Year's, Easter and three summer blocks. Swimmers train in small groups (1 coach per 8 swimmers), get a 1:1 flume-channel video analysis session, and train the race-day mental game daily. 80% hit a personal best at camp, and every camp carries a written guarantee: PB at camp or within 90 days, or we coach them free for 6 months. Both 13-20 summer camps for August 2026 are sold out; October, New Year's and Easter are open.
Swimpros runs Europe's most popular performance swim camp right now, and Tenerife is our home base. If you are searching for a Tenerife swim camp for a competitive swimmer, this page answers the questions parents actually ask me: when, who coaches, what is included, and what makes this camp different.
I am David Karasek, an Olympic finalist and Swiss record holder in the 200m IM, and the founder of Swimpros.

Why Tenerife is where we train
Tenerife is where serious European swimming goes to train. The south of the island offers warm, stable weather all year, which means 50m outdoor training in December, at Easter, and in October, when most of Europe is stuck indoors. That is why national teams and pro squads winter-train in the Canaries, and it is why we built our camp program around the island. Your swimmer trains in the same environment the professionals choose, at the time of year when a focused 10-day block does the most good.
Camp dates and who each camp is for
Our Tenerife camps run 10 days each, for competitive swimmers aged 13 to 20, with non-residential Junior Camps (ages 8 to 12) running concurrently at several dates so younger siblings can train too while staying with their parents nearby. The current calendar:
- October Camp: Oct 24 to Nov 1, 2026. Early-bird pricing currently running.
- New Year's Camp: Dec 26, 2026 to Jan 4, 2027, plus a concurrent Junior New Year's Camp (8 to 12).
- Easter Camp: Mar 25 to Apr 4, 2027.
- Summer 2027: three blocks (Aug 2 to 12, Aug 14 to 24, Aug 26 to Sep 5), each with a concurrent Junior Camp.
A note on demand: both 13-20 summer camps for August 2026 sold out, and the concurrent Junior Camp was down to its last spots well before the start. If a specific date matters to your family, especially summer, book the conversation early rather than waiting for the season.
Summer sells out first, every year. The families who get the dates they want are the ones who talk to us in autumn and winter, not in May.
What is included
- Flume-channel video analysis: a 1:1 session in a hydrodynamic flume channel with Peter Mankoč, former 100m IM world record holder. Your swimmer is filmed, sees frame by frame what is adding tenths to every lap, and leaves with a personalized fix-list. In a recent camp, swimmers dropped 0.5 seconds on a 15m underwater kick between day 1 and day 10. Over a 200m short-course race, that is roughly 4 seconds from the turns alone.
- Daily confidence training: I coach the same mental frameworks Olympic medalists use, built for swimmers who train great but fall apart at meets. Practical, not theory.
- Small groups: 1 coach for every 8 swimmers. Head coach Yul Munger, who has coached 200+ competitive swimmers across 12 countries, is in the water every session and personally reviews every application.
- Guest world-record coaches: at Summer Camp 2, Peter Mankoč is joined by Milorad Čavić, the man who pushed Phelps to the wall at the 2008 Olympics.
- 24/7 supervision: secure facilities and certified staff for residential swimmers.
The venue vs the program
Worth being precise about, because parents ask: our Tenerife camps use high-performance training facilities in the region, including at Tenerife Top Training (T3), a genuinely excellent, independent sports centre. T3 is the venue. The camp program, meaning the flume video analysis, the daily mental training, the 1-to-8 ratio, the guest coaches and the guarantee, is built and run by Swimpros. If you have seen the flume or Milorad Čavić associated with a Tenerife facility, that program is ours. The full breakdown is in where Swimpros trains and who actually coaches.
The personal-best guarantee
Every Tenerife camp carries the same written promise: your swimmer hits a personal best at camp, or within 90 days, or we coach them free for 6 months. It has been claimed zero times in 4 years. In one recent camp, 28 of 35 swimmers PB'd at camp itself and the remaining 7 did within 90 days. That is 100% within 90 days, and it is why we can put the guarantee in writing.
